We are looking for a BI & Data Analytics Engineer to play a key role in building scalable analytics solutions, enhancing our data infrastructure, and driving data-informed decision-making for our partners.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

As a BI & Data Analytics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing complex Power BI dashboards and analytics solutions to deliver actionable insights. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build scalable data models, streamline ETL processes, and ensure high-quality reporting solutions that drive strategic decision-making.

Power BI Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Create advanced DAX calculations, measures, and KPIs to support complex business logic.
• Optimize Power BI performance, ensuring fast data refresh, efficient query execution, and seamless user experience.
• Develop custom visualizations and interactive storytelling elements to communicate insights effectively.

Data Modeling & ETL:

• Design and maintain efficient data models in Power BI, SQL, and data warehouses.
• Develop ETL pipelines to integrate, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources (databases, APIs, cloud platforms).
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and compliance with education-sector privacy regulations.

SQL & Data Engineering:

• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
• Work with modern data warehouses (e.g., Azure DataLake, DataBricks or Google BigQuery)to build scalable, structured data solutions.
• Collaborate with data engineers to develop high-performance data pipelines.

Business Intelligence & Reporting:

• Partner with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical BI solutions.
• Develop self-service BI tools that empower users to make data-driven decisions.
• Conduct data validation and QA to ensure reports and analytics meet business needs.

Process Improvement & Documentation:

• Establish and implement best practices for Power BI development, governance, and deployment.
• Maintain thorough documentation for data models, processes, and reports.
• Train and support business users on BI best practices.

What You Need (Required Skills and Experience)

• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or Power BI development.
• Expertise in Power BI, including Power Query (M language), DAX, and data visualization techniques.
• Strong proficiency in SQL for querying and data transformation.
• Experience with ETL tools and data integration methodologies.
• Knowledge of data modeling concepts, including star schema, fact/dimension tables.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, etc.).
• Ability to analyze complex business requirements and convert them into data-driven solutions.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, but Not Required)

• Experience with Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Familiarity of Python or R for advanced analytics.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Power BI deployment.
• Familiarity using DeltaShare standard
• Exposure to AI/ML-driven analytics and automation.
• Previous experience working in education preferred.
