Supplier Quality Assurance Manager

Huhtamaki’s Fiber Foodservice segment is currently looking to hire a Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Manager to join our sourcing department in Europe.  As a SQA Manager at Huhtamaki, you would be responsible for managing and improving the quality, compliance and ESG due diligence from suppliers.

In this role, you will also develop and implement quality assurance policies, conduct supplier audits, and collaborate with suppliers to resolve systematic quality issues. In addition, you will ensure that suppliers meet regulatory requirements and company standards, thereby contributing to the overall quality of the final product.

This role can be based remotely from any European country where Huhtamaki have a legal entity, including Luxembourg, UK, Netherlands, Germany, France, Finland and Italy, among others.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supplier evaluation and selection

  • Supplier performance monitoring

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of supplier audits, performance evaluations, and quality issues.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on supplier quality performance to senior management.

  • Work closely with segment Quality and Compliance (Q&C) team and local Q&C teams within MU’s, to ensure alignment on quality objectives and requirements.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams and sourcing category councils.

  • Coordinate/Network with other SQA or Q&C resources in the segment or group.

  • Monitor and maintain FSC and PEFC certifications, due diligence and documentations from suppliers.

  • Act as liaison between Group Sustainability and the segment and local sourcing teams.

  • Develop a CoC tracking and acknowledgment system for suppliers, likely using a centralized third-party tool.

  • Map hot spots (by sourcing category, country, language, size of supplier, or other) where CoC acknowledgement lags or is at risk, or where risks of violations of the code are highlighted.

  • Support the development and deployment of ESG risk assessment questionnaires, as well as the integration with required systems.

Education, Experience & Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Quality Engineer, Six Sigma Green/Black Belt) is a plus.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in supplier quality assurance, quality engineering, or a related role, preferably in manufacturing or a similar industry.

  • Experience in paper manufacturing or converting industry is a plus.

  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methods, and tools.

  • Experience with supplier auditing and evaluation.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in quality management systems and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
