The Role.
The Director, Privacy Technologist & Third-Party Privacy Risk reporting into the Head of Global Data Privacy Program, will serve a pivotal role at Genmab by contributing to the development and ongoing maintenance of key components of Genmab’s Global Data Privacy Program. In this role, you will be responsible for two critical Program areas: (i) the design and implementation of privacy specific technical engineering and control strategies based on Genmab’s data protection, privacy and data ethics regulations and policies; and (ii) the implementation and oversight of Genmab’s third-party privacy risk compliance function. Successful candidates will have a deep understanding of data privacy and protection principles, technical acumen, and a very strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement clear and pragmatic solutions that meet both business and data privacy and protection requirements.
This is a hybrid role that requires being onsite 60% of the time in Princeton, NJ.
Responsibilities.
The key responsibilities for this role will be, but not limited to:
- According to data privacy and protection regulations and Genmab policies, collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable and actional technical solutions that incorporate industry best practices and accommodate business scenarios.
- Partner with IT&D stakeholders to develop the strategy for the implementation of technical rules and standards for privacy compliance in data life cycles and deployment of technologies – internally and externally.
- Partner with IT&D and business stakeholders to develop technical rules and specifications to support data privacy and protection compliance in all processing of personal data.
- Cultivate business understanding to proactively support data privacy and protection needs and requirements, assist in the design of privacy specifications for all technical solutions as well as support implementation where necessary.
- Provide technical expertise to IT&D and business stakeholders on consent management, providing input and feedback on policies, procedures, and technical implementation guidance as necessary. This includes translating complex privacy regulations into actionable guidance for technical teams across different regions.
- Serve as Global Data Privacy liaison with IT&D colleagues to proactively communicate data protection and privacy regulatory changes and their technical impact on IT&D policies and operations; and partner with IT&D colleagues to provide actionable guidance to technical teams on necessary operational and administrative updates needed to maintain continued compliance with new regulations.
- Identify and evaluate new data privacy and protection solutions, including new privacy enhancing technologies, for implementation externally or through Genmab’s third-party partners.
- Partner with cross-functional team to establish third-party oversight strategy and support ongoing management of third-party data privacy and protection risks.
- Support the development of internal standards and assessments for the evaluation and ongoing oversight of Genmab data processors in accordance with Genmab’s risk management framework and data privacy and protection policies.
- Works closely with the Global Data Privacy team members to support all Genmab activities involving the processing of personal data.
- Supports Head of Global Data Privacy in facilitating and raising organizational awareness of Genmab’s Global Data Privacy Program and Data Ethics Principles.
Requirements.
Experience, Education and Skills.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in privacy engineering, computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields.
- 10+ years experience of relevant work experience in software engineering, or related data or information management. A minimum of 5 years experience with privacy/security engineering or data privacy governance or data privacy architecture design, with the ability to quickly understand technical designs, challenges, and privacy related risks.
- Familiarity with domestic and international data privacy and protection laws and regulations, such as GDPR, PIPL, HIPAA, CCPA (and other US state privacy regulations), and US state breach and cybersecurity regulations.
- Knowledge of privacy and/or compliance solutions including tools supporting data obfuscation, encrypted processing, federate and distributed analytics, and data accountability strongly preferred.
- Experience with experience architecting and deploying privacy technology tools (e.g., OneTrust, Securiti.ai, BigID, Vault.js, etc.) as well as supporting cross-functional team development with IT&D of custom APIs / integrations is preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex principles and communicate clear messages to all levels of organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and expertise.

- Vendor sponsored or professional certifications preferred: Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US), CIPP certification in European privacy (CIPP/E), Canadian privacy (CIPP/C), Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT), Fellow of Information Privacy (FIP).
- Privacy Technology Certification(s) Preferred: Obtains one or more of the following certifications: Privacy technology software certifications on one or more of the following products: OneTrust, BigID, and/or Collibra (or similar privacy management tools).

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:
$183,200.00---$274,800.00
The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
