The state authorization team seeks and maintains compliance with state, federal, and professional licensing board regulations that impact Ohio State’s out-of-state educational and licensure program activities. The primary function of this role is to research state professional licensure regulations and verify whether completion of an Ohio State University licensure program meets education requirements for licensure in each jurisdiction. In doing so, this individual will communicate confidently and concisely with state licensing agencies regarding regulatory requirements, draft required disclosure statements, and communicate with university
stakeholders about the impact of regulations on Ohio State programs.The individual will also facilitate solution-focused meetings with university stakeholders and will work to establish positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. They will gather program information and student data, maintain a shared document storage system, and submit authorization applications and reports. The individual will also support annual data reporting processes related to NC-SARA and other regulatory agencies.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree. At least 2 year of demonstrated experience reviewing, analyzing, and summarizing state and federal regulations in any field; Familiarity with best practices in effective legal research and writing: ability to describe basic research steps and formulate appropriate questions; High level of organization and attention to detail; Strong writing skills and the ability to convey complex information using clear, simple language; Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Desired Education and Experience:
Paralegal Certification; At least one year of experience in higher education or in a compliance role.
The Targeted Hiring Range for this position is $55,100 - $59,081. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
