Hiring Pay Range: $20.50 - $26.25 Hourly
Full Range: $20.50 - $32.00 Hourly

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

As the Deputy Registrar and Programs Coordinator, you will perform a broad range of job assignments that are focused on supporting and assisting The Maricopa County Recorder and office. You will oversee all databases and inboxes associated with constituent communications, including electronic, telephonic, and digital formats. You will be responsible for managing the activities and schedules of Constituent Services staff.

As a leader in this role, you will ensure all production and goal levels of responses are met. You will assist in assignments associated with the recruitment, engagement, retention, tracking, and training of the award-winning Maricopa County Recorder’s volunteer program. The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. The MCRO also maintains the permanent public record of over 50 million documents dating back to 1871, including deeds, plat maps, and a variety of other important documents. We Require

  • Three years of professional-related administrative experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Bachelor's degree in public policy, business, education, or a related field
  • Three years of training experience, both virtual and in-person
  • Previous experience in volunteer coordination
  • Bi-lingual a plus

Job Contributions

  • Maintain a weekly schedule of Deputy Registrar activities and Elections events, scheduling volunteers when needed
  • Attends and coordinates volunteers for weekly Naturalization ceremonies
  • Create opportunities for learning for the Deputy Registrars, including but not limited to continuing education courses, tours, and guest lectures
  • Expand awareness of the Deputy Registrar Program throughout the County, focusing on outreach to college and high school campuses
  • Improve training documents for the Deputy Registrar Program
  • Assist in responding to emails received in both Recording and Voter Info inboxes
  • Complete tasks necessary for serving constituents during Election Season
  • Other duties within the department as needed, as well as cross training

Working Conditions

  • Must complete Secretary of State Election Officer Certification when offered
  • You will be required to work from the office most of the time
  • Occasional remote working arrangements will be accommodated
  • In-state travel may be required
  • May be required to work overtime during the Primary/General election cycle
