Job description

As a Government Affairs Specialist Lead in our Regulatory Affairs Practice Group, you’ll work with our business leaders to support government relations and advocacy strategies relating to legislative and regulatory issues impacting Progressive’s products and services. You’ll work closely with senior leaders throughout the organization and our Government Affairs team to develop and deliver public policy strategies and communications. This includes advocating for Progressive interests both directly, with external lobbying resources, and with trade and other organizations.

This is a remote position and may require frequent overnight travel for meetings.

Must-have Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent or higher and a minimum of 10 years of government relations, advocacy, public policy, or related business activities experience
  • {OR} Bachelor's degree or higher in Political Science, Business Administration, Public Relations, or related field of study and a minimum of 7 years government relations, advocacy, public policy, or related business activities experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Prior property and casualty insurance regulatory and/or government relations experience, including direct contact with departments of insurance, other agencies/regulators, and legislators or their staff.
  • Proven experience developing relationships with governmental agencies/regulators, legislators, external lobbyists, consultants, trade associations, and other organizations.
  • Proven experience developing and delivering public policy strategies and communications.

Compensation

  • $136,340 - $160,400/year
  • Gainshare bonus up to 40% of your eligible earnings based on company performance
