Agilent is seeking a seasoned Senior Attorney with expertise in Federal government contracting, compliance and supply chain thereof with a deep background in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations Supplement (DFARS) compliance and General Services Administration (GSA) contracting process. This role ensures adherence to complex government regulations, minimizes risk, and maximizes opportunities. The role will also require an ability to grow with the business and to be an active partner with sales in helping build strategies around Federal Government sales. You will join a team of experienced attorneys in the Agilent Legal Department who are focused on developing innovative legal approaches and business-focused solutions across Agilent's diverse businesses and regions. The position will initially report directly to a VP, Asst. General Counsel, with a dotted line to the SVP, Chief Legal Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee FARS/DFARS compliance, including contract negotiation, administration, and closeout.
Develop and implement contracting and compliance policies, procedures, and training programs.
Work closely with procurement departments to ensure supply chain compliance with applicable government contracting requirements.
Work closely with IT and Legal Compliance colleagues regarding CMCC and other cybersecurity matters.
Conduct various audits and risk assessments.
Stay current on regulatory changes (Biosecure Act etc.) and industry best practices.
Negotiate complex government contracts, including GSA schedules.
Draft, review, and interpret contract terms to mitigate risk.
Manage contract performance and resolve disputes.
Collaborate with business development, operations, and compliance teams.
Provide strategic legal advice on government contracting matters.
Support business development efforts with guidance on proposal preparation and contract negotiation strategies.
Provide regular training to sales and procurement colleagues regarding these and related matters.
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
10+ years of experience in the government contracting space, with a focus on FARS/DFARS.
In-depth knowledge of GSA Schedules and other federal contracting vehicles.
Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and management.
Proven track record of successful supply chain compliance management as well as Federal cybersecurity requirements.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely.
