Ideally, the Nurse Consultant has experience as a Legal Nurse Consultant (LNCC even better) or is a Registered Nurse that has reviewed digital medical records and/or prepared medical chronologies in recent positions (not chart audits). A bachelor’s degree from an accredited School of Nursing is also preferred. This role supports our Experts and includes reviewing and summarizing records, identifying any missing records and documents, footnoting relevant information in the summary, and transferring information into reports. The Nurse Consultant will virtually attend evaluee interviews as requested and perform research on injuries and illnesses as needed for reports. They will communicate with our Case Managers regarding any missing information and documents.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Organize and conduct comprehensive review of medical records, depositions, and other relevant case materials.
  • Summarize digital medical records in narrative form, both by provider and in chronological order.
  • Footnote and extract relevant medical documents within the summary and the report.
  • Transfer pertinent information from the summary to the report.
  • Communicate with case managers regarding missing documents and information which is critical to reports.
  • Perform research through peer-reviewed articles and websites on injuries and illnesses relevant to specific reports.
  • Attend evaluee interviews as requested by the expert to take notes and provide nursing insight.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

  • Registered Nurse
  • Associate’s degree 
  • Minimum two years’ experience in nursing

Preferred:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing  
  • Legal Nurse Consultant (LNCC even better) or Registered Nurse that has reviewed digital medical records and/or prepared medical chronologies in recent positions
  • Experience working in the ICU, critical care or ER 

LOCATION (WHERE WILL YOU BE WORKING?)

  • This position is 100% remote that supports east to west coast time zones.
  • Remote position is for the following states: AL, CT, DC, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, LA, MD, MN, MS, MO, NV, NJ, NM, NC, OH, PA, TN, TX, SC, UT, VA.
