We have an exciting remote opportunity for a Business Analyst - Customer Development who resides in or near Little Rock, AR.


The Business Analyst - Customer Development is a strategic role that leverages advanced analytical skills, technical expertise, and business acumen to support the Customer Development team in achieving Summit’s corporate growth objectives. This role requires a proactive, solutions-driven professional capable of driving process improvements, managing complex data systems, and collaborating cross-functionally to optimize workflows and deliver business value.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze, prioritize, and monitor sales leads and opportunities, ensuring efficient routing and timely processing while identifying trends to enhance the growth team’s performance.
  • Manage and optimize the creation, updating, and assignment of SAP leads and opportunities, ensuring data integrity and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Develop, automate, and maintain reports and dashboards in C4C, S4, and other SAP systems to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Oversee the creation and tracking of G6 notification requests for address and work order creation, ensuring seamless execution by internal or contract service crews.
  • Participate in and lead project initiatives to enhance the functionality and efficiency of Summit’s SAP systems, including C4C and S4, using business process analysis techniques.
  • Collaborate with construction crew leaders and contract service managers to collect, analyze, and report on completed and scheduled work orders, driving operational efficiency.
  • Support Customer Development Representatives with meter station requests and oversee the creation and management of JIRA tickets for issue resolution.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations teams to secure and track project routing approvals, while ensuring timely creation and completion of work orders for growth initiatives.
  • Compile, analyze, and visualize datasets to track progress toward Summit’s corporate growth goals, creating actionable insights and executive-level presentations.
  • Design and implement process optimization initiatives in collaboration with Customer Development leadership, focusing on scalability and efficiency.
  • Leverage advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement across business processes.
  • Collaborate with IT to design, develop, and maintain integrated reporting systems and dashboards that support Customer Development objectives.
  • Ensure contract compliance and record retention policies within the Customer Development department, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Act as a cross-functional liaison, addressing interdepartmental challenges and streamlining workflows to achieve organizational efficiency.
  • Mentor and train new Customer Development employees in systems, tools, and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate departmental involvement in industry and community organizations, managing sponsorships and special events to support growth initiatives.


EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Information Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or a related field, with a preference for experience in natural gas or electric utilities.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP and familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

  • Proven expertise in data analysis, visualization, and reporting, with advanced skills in Excel and other data analytics tools.
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems and their integration with business processes.
  • Experience with process mapping, business process re-engineering, and implementing scalable solutions.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze complex datasets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for diverse audiences.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of balancing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with natural gas distribution systems and operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management tools such as JIRA or Trello.
