Product Owner

As a Product Owner, you will collaborate with a Product Manager to drive the successful delivery, ongoing support, and continuous improvement of products that enhance customer and business value. Your focus will be on execution—managing the product backlog, ensuring development efforts align with business needs, and overseeing post-launch support. You will work closely with Quality Engineering, Customer Success, and internal teams to prioritize support issues, monitor product quality, and ensure a seamless user experience.

Responsibilities

Backlog Management & Execution

  • Define and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with the product strategy and business priorities.
  • Write and refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical requirements in collaboration with engineering, UX, and business teams.
  • Work with development teams to ensure clarity and feasibility of requirements, adjusting priorities as needed to maximize value.
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager to ensure roadmaps and backlog align with company objectives and customer needs.

Ongoing Product Support & Quality Management

  • Partner with QA and Development team members to monitor and improve product reliability, ensuring a focus on automation, CI/CD, and test-driven development (TDD) where applicable.
  • Oversee the triage, tracking, and prioritization of reported bugs, balancing externally reported issues from customers and internally flagged items from Customer Success and other teams.
  • Define and maintain quality reporting metrics, ensuring visibility into product stability and user experience performance.
  • Advocate for continuous product improvement, incorporating feedback loops to identify and address recurring issues.

Stakeholder & Team Collaboration

  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team, ensuring smooth communication between business stakeholders and engineers.
  • Partner with the Product Manager to gather customer feedback, analyze usage data, and refine requirements.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews, ensuring the team is set up for success.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and support teams to ensure smooth go-to-market execution and internal adoption.

Customer-Centric Product Development

  • Ensure a strong focus on user experience by collaborating with design and research teams to validate solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product usability, performance, and business impact.
  • Help prioritize bug fixes and enhancements based on customer needs and business impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or related role within Agile product development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies, with hands-on experience in backlog management.
  • Ability to translate business needs into detailed product requirements and user stories.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working with SaaS, ERP, or market-facing COTS products is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, or similar Agile tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with e-commerce, workflow automation, or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive decisions.
  • Experience in managing integrations and API-driven products.
  • Knowledge of best practices in:
    • User-Centered Design (UCD)
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) automation
    • Test-Driven Development (TDD)
  • Experience working with Quality Engineering teams to improve product reliability and automation.
