The following position is to join our RTX Enterprise Services Team:

RTX has an opening for an Associate Director, Material Master Lead (Associate Director, Business Systems and Transformation).

  • The Material Master Lead will support data integration, data quality and data strategies across all systems and processes. 
  • Provide expertise and guidance in SAP material master impacts on end-to-end business processes and system integrations to the Business Workstreams.

What You Will Do:

  • Material Master Data Strategy:  Implement the global strategy for Material Master data management, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity across the enterprise.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on Material Master data
  • SAP Material Master Expertise:  Provide expertise in the design, configuration, and management of SAP Material Master data, ensuring it aligns with business needs and industry standards.
  • Ensure the Blueprinting team understands the SAP Material Master linkage to various modules and rules governing it.
  • Understand the impact of Material Master data on all business processes, including procurement, production, sales, inventory management, and finance.
  • Integration with Non-SAP Systems:  Ensure the integration of Material Master data with non-SAP systems, particularly Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and other engineering systems.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between legacy & SAP S/4 systems to support data & analytics for product development, manufacturing, and supply chain operations.
  • Aerospace and Defense Industry Focus:  Apply expertise of the A&D industry to ensure the ERP system is tailored to meet regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with business units to minimize customizations and promote the use of standard SAP functionalities that align with industry best practices.
  • Team Leadership:  Foster a collaborative working environment, ensuring that team members have clear roles, responsibilities, and goals for the project.
  • Manage resource allocation and workload distribution to ensure on-time, high-quality data migration deliverables.
  • Data Governance and Quality:  Establish and enforce data governance policies for Material Master data, including data creation, maintenance, deletion and security processes.
  • Lead data quality initiatives, including audits, cleansing, and validation activities, to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Change Management and Training:  Lead change management efforts related to Material Master data, including the development and delivery of training programs for end-users and data stewards.
  • Act as a change champion, promoting the adoption of standardized processes and data governance practices across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, supply chain, engineering, production, finance, and other key stakeholders to ensure Material Master data supports business objectives.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives, providing expertise on systems design, data requirements and impacts.
  • Continuous Improvement:  Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in Material Master data management, leveraging new technologies and best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, SAP updates, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in Material Master data processes.
  • Travel up to 25-50% domestically

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Minimum of 12+ years’ exposure to Material Master Data Management field and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) or Business Administration, or a related field or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 10+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in SAP Material Master data management, with a strong focus on the Aerospace and Defense industry, ERP implementations and integrations.
  • Deep understanding of how Material Master data impacts all business processes within SAP and its integration with non-SAP systems like PLM.
  • Expert-level knowledge of SAP Material Master, including configuration, fields, rules governing the out of box Configuration, and how the Material Master integrates with other SAP modules.
  • Current U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Ability to travel up to 25-50%
  • Knowledge of PLM systems and their integration with SAP ERP.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks and best practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Aerospace and Defense industry, including regulatory and compliance requirements related to material management.

The salary range for this role is 147,000 USD - 295,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
