Overview of the role
The primary focus of this role will be to develop students’ academic writing and study skills. This will encompass providing support to students from Foundation level 3, through to level 6 and 7 students working on more advanced work. The post holder will assist with identifying the needs of cohorts and individuals’ requirements and provide a variety of means by which these can be addressed. The post-holder will support students in a variety of academic skills including academic writing, presentation skills, critical evaluation, planning and structuring as well as digital skills and digital literacy.
The post-holder will aim at creating a supportive and empathic learning environment for a multicultural and multilingual study body. The post-holder will also play a key role in promoting and embedding academic skills support across the university through engagement with students, academic staff and other relevant staff and departments.
