Department Overview
The PremierOne CAD and Mobile team develops software for public safety organizations to manage emergency dispatch and reporting. The team is part of the Motorola Video and Software organization which builds secure, scalable and reliable on-premise and cloud based products to serve public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world providing sophisticated and customized workflows and cost effective solutions to municipalities of all sizes.
Job Description
Work as a member of the Forward Deployed Engineering team whose mission is to ensure success for our public safety customers. The successful candidate will join a highly technical team eager to solve complex customer problems by replicating problem scenarios, performing hands-on troubleshooting, performing analysis of software and systems to determine root cause, and developing software solutions. Our team works closely with our customers, our customer support organization and the broader engineering team to improve our PremierOne CAD and Mobile product’s functionality and performance.
Basic Requirements
- 10+ years of experience developing complex and highly scalable C#/.NET applications in Visual Studio.
- Expert-level understanding of Object Oriented programming principles, design patterns, and architectural best practices, with a proven track record of leading the design and implementation of large-scale, enterprise-grade software systems.
- Extensive experience developing applications utilizing Microsoft SQL Server databases, including deep expertise in database design, optimization, performance tuning, and troubleshooting complex database issues.
- Advanced experience with UI programming in C#/.NET, including a strong grasp of multiple UI frameworks and experience architecting and leading the development of highly interactive and user-friendly interfaces.
- Exceptional debugging skills, including proficiency with advanced debugging tools, memory dumps, performance profiling, and root cause analysis.
- Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying robust and scalable Windows Services, WCF services, and multi-threaded applications.
- Expertise with Git and other distributed version control systems, including experience with branching strategies, code reviews, and managing large code bases.
- Advanced English language skills, both written and verbal, for effective communication with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and mentorship skills, including experience guiding and mentoring junior developers, fostering knowledge sharing, and promoting team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to independently architect, design, and lead the development of complex software solutions, including responsibility for project scope, technical direction, and team management.
- Proven ability to influence technical decisions, advocate for best practices, and drive innovation within the team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively identify, analyze, and solve complex technical challenges.
- MS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.
