About Role:

This is an exciting new opportunity for you to join BPs new Remote Collaboration Centre (RCC) in Pune. BPs RCCs utilize leading-edge technology to monitor all of BPs offshore drilling and completion activity globally. Our aim is to assist our regional teams in delivering flawless execution, in terms of both safety and performance.

This is an ideal opening for an Engineer who wants to use their experience and expertise to optimize BPs drilling performance by ensuring critical tasks are performed in conformance to BP requirements.  You will work with the existing RCC Teams in London and Houston to monitor drilling parameters on all of BP’s wells globally. You will frequently interact with our regional teams, and this is a great opportunity to broaden your experience in different operating environments and facilities, whilst working on a variety of operations.

Being part of the RCC Team will also give you access to a comprehensive development structure which will allow you to develop your own technical skills whilst delivering business value.

Please note that this is a position that will work alternating shift patterns across the day to support 24/7 working.

What you will Deliver:

  • Perform hydraulics modelling to optimize trip speeds, and generate BP conformant trip plans

  • Monitoring trips to optimize speeds and assist in decisions around clean out runs

  • Monitor critical operations for conformance e.g. pressure testing, cementing, wellbore displacement, liner hanger setting etc.

  • Perform daily kick tolerance calculations

  • Own and maintain the micro KPI monitoring software

  • Perform Self Verification and Oversight activities

  • Initiate communication with RCCs and regional teams after risks/opportunities are identified, and escalate as per the RCC communication protocols  

  • Attend daily check-ins with other RCCs to discuss ongoing operations and determine focus areas

  • Upon request, provided detailed engineering analysis of events

What you will need to be successful

 Must have educational qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering, science, or similar subject

Minimum years of relevant experience:

  • Experience monitoring and supporting drilling operations for a minimum of 5 years

Must have experiences/skills: 

  • Extensive experience using hydraulics software

  • Experience using kick tolerance software

  • Experience working at the rig site

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Relevant Well Control certification
