Job description

Note: APA operates on a 37.5-hour work week with one hour lunch breaks each day. APA sets salaries based on several considerations, including years of relevant experience, level of education, and previous staff and/or governance experience at APA.

The Senior Sales Representative, Recruitment Advertising and Job Postings is responsible for inbound and outbound recruitment advertising sales for the PsycCareers suite of products to include the PsycCareers job board, recruitment advertising in Monitor on Psychology, and virtual job fairs. The position is also responsible for contributing to the growth of recruitment advertising revenue through providing employer assistance in optimizing engagement and ROI for the psychology job market and working as part of the PsycCareers team in the ongoing development, enhancement, and execution of new sales initiatives such as the master’s level market expansion and special recruitment advertising sections. Current total annual recruitment revenue exceeds $1.6 million. It is the responsibility of the Senior Sales Representative, Recruitment Advertising and Job Postings to meet and exceed monthly and annual sales quotas to grow the market share of psychology jobs on PsycCareers. This position is part of an PsycCareers sales team and reports to the Senior Manager, Recruitment Media Sales.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field required.
  • Minimum of five years of related advertising sales experience, preferably selling recruitment media and online career center job boards.
  • Knowledge of the recruitment advertising industry (and industry analytics).
  • Strong sales and negotiation aptitude
  • Demonstrated track record of successful sales execution, revenue generation, and sustainable sales growth.
  • Strong organization, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Excellent relationship management skills including the ability to work in a collaborative environment. 

Computer Skills Required:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software suite
  • Knowledge of online job board and job fair platforms (examples include Web Scribble, Madgex, and Brazen)
  • Knowledge of website analytics tools
  • Knowledge of sales information systems and CRM platforms (preferably Salesforce)
  • Experience working with third party marketing integration platforms a plus.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Sales Representative, Recruitment Advertising and Job Postings has direct daily contact with APA members, major psychology industry employers, human resource professionals, and advertising agencies to influence their decision-making process in recruiting for psychologists and clinicians.

Direct responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Work in collaboration with the PsycCareers team to execute a strategic sales plan to maintain and grow an established business of over $1.6 million in annual recruitment advertising revenue with an eye toward continuous growth and innovation.
  2. Direct sales management of West Coast sales.
  3. Engage in contract-based and bulk package job posting negotiation with clients and collaborate with required APA departments, such as legal.
  4. Account and report PsycCareers weekly revenue in Sr. Managers absence.
  5. Cultivate a pipeline of recruitment advertising prospects from outbound and inbound leads provided via marketing outreach/lead research/phone calls/emails/social media contacts.
  6. Utilize sales information systems and CRM (Salesforce.com) to maintain accurate and up-to-date files of client account information, maintain sales activity reports, and assist in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual revenue projections.
  7. Engage in strategic conversations with current and potential clients to understand client recruitment needs, goals, market conditions, and spend relative to PsycCareers and related competitors.
  8. Collaborate with the PsycCareers team on marketing and sales strategy to identify new recruitment product opportunities and sales support materials.
  9. Work with the PsycCareers team on the sales and logistics of virtual job fairs.
  10. Edit recruitment and classified advertising according to APA policy.
