We are looking for a skilled EHR/EMR Integration Developer with expertise in HL7,
Mirth Connect, and other interoperability standards for the US healthcare domain. As
a part of our product development team, you will be responsible for designing,
implementing, and maintaining integrations between our healthcare platform and
various EHR/EMR systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and compliance with
healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain EHR/EMR integrations using HL7 v2, HL7 FHIR, CDA,
and other interoperability standards.
Configure and customize Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) to process and
route healthcare messages.
Design and implement API-based and interface engine-based integrations for
data exchange with hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare providers.
Work with RESTful and SOAP APIs, databases (SQL, NoSQL), and file-based
data exchange mechanisms.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other US healthcare data security
regulations.
Collaborate with product managers, healthcare IT teams, and EHR vendors to
understand requirements and deliver robust integration solutions.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize message processing pipelines for
performance and accuracy.
Stay updated on evolving healthcare interoperability standards and implement
best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in EHR/EMR integration in a US healthcare product
company.
Strong expertise in HL7 v2.x, HL7 FHIR, CDA, X12, DICOM messaging
standards.
Hands-on experience with Mirth Connect (NextGen Connect) for message
transformation, routing, and scripting.
Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python, or Groovy for interface development.
Experience working with SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL) and
NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with FHIR APIs, RESTful APIs, and web services.
Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, data security, and PHI handling.
Experience with cloud-based healthcare solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in an agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with FHIR-based interoperability platforms and SMART on FHIR.
Knowledge of US healthcare workflows, EDI transactions (837, 835, 270/271),
and payer-provider data exchange.
Certification in HL7, FHIR, or Mirth Connect is a plus.
