Job description

Overview:

The Learning Specialist supports the Training and Development team by assisting in the creation and delivery of effective training programs. This role involves helping to assess organizational development needs, contributing to content creation, and supporting the development of curricula. 

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs, gather requirements, and assist in developing tailored solutions that address specific business objectives.
  • Assist in the assessment of training needs by partnering with department leadership and providing recommendations.
  • Develop training materials using a variety of multimedia resources, including interactive videos and digital simulations, to enhance learner engagement and retention.
  • Facilitate learning sessions and workshops using a variety of training methods, such as classroom training, virtual classroom training, on-the-job training, coaching, mentorship programs, and e-learning, to cultivate new skills and strengths across the workforce.
  • Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) to deliver and track training, including eLearning modules, session completion rates, and training metrics, while working closely with the Learning System Administrator.
  • Create course assessments, training evaluations, quizzes, and meaningful, interactive activities that improve learning outcomes.
  • Review the effectiveness of training programs by monitoring results against corporate goals and key performance indicators and suggest data-driven improvements to enhance impact.
  • Support continuous improvement of learning programs, including new hire training and continuous improvement initiatives, to ensure they remain effective and aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years direct experience with Instructional Design or curriculum development and delivering content, preferably in a corporate learning and development environment. 
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing environment and the learning and development needs of front-line workers, supervisors, and managers. 
  • A combination of experience and education may also be considered. 
  • Proven experience as a Learning Specialist, Trainer, or similar role. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities. 
  • Proficiency in using e-learning software and tools. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Familiarity with virtual training platforms and tools. 
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • MS Office Skills: Intermediate experience with Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint. 
  • Content Tools: Basic knowledge of software for creating interactive multimedia content. 
  • Presentation Skills: Speaks clearly and persuasively; listens and clarifies; responds well to questions; good at group presentations and meetings. Uses proper grammar and professional non-verbal communication. 
  • Writing Skills: Writes clearly and informatively; checks work for spelling and grammar; adjusts writing style as needed; presents numerical data effectively; reads and interprets written information. 
  • Adaptability: Manages competing demands; changes approach to fit the situation. Transitions training to job skills, uses various adult learning styles. Manages multiple projects and time. 
  • Monitoring Work: Tracks process, progress, performance, and results to make improvements or take corrective action. 
  • Attention to Detail: Works accurately; identifies, analyzes, prevents, and solves problems. 
  • Teamwork: Works well with others to achieve shared goals.
  • Occasional travel
