Job description

Status: Full Time Salary                       FLSA Classification: Exempt

Summary of Position: Major Gifts Officer plays a pivotal role in the fundraising strategy by cultivating and managing relationships with major donors capable of making significant contributions. This role involves developing personalized engagement plans, coordinating donor communication, and organizing meetings and events to foster donor relationships.

  • Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals and major national foundations. 
  • Develop and implement personalized engagement plans for major donors. 
  • Coordinate and oversee donor communications, ensuring timely and effective interactions. 
  • Identify and solicit donations, aligning efforts with organizational priorities.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to achieve fundraising goals. 

Qualifications/Requirements:  Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Non-Profit Management, Non-Profit Administration, or related field is preferred.

  • Equivalent combination of education, experience, training, or certification may be considered in lieu of degree. 
  • Five years of fundraising experience in a non-profit setting preferred. 
  • Five years of demonstrated achievement identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors. 
  • Two years of experience working with CRM database.
  • Proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or a related field.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
