Laboratory Operations Coordinator

Zeno is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Operations Coordinator to support the mission-oriented efforts of developing and bringing to market Radioisotope Power Systems (RPS) technologies.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with instrument and equipment maintenance, verification, and calibration programs
  • Maintain and help troubleshoot laboratory instruments, ensuring functionality, compliance with safety standards, and proper documentation
  • Support Environment, Health, and Safety (EH&S) to ensure a safe working environment
  • Oversee the inventory of lab supplies and equipment, managing stock levels, ordering, and receipt inspections to ensure timely availability
  • Maintain accurate and up to date laboratory Confluence pages
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and lab records
  • Help manage and coordinate the collection and disposal of chemical waste in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Provide hands-on support to both the Hardware and Chemistry labs, assisting with day-to-day operations and troubleshooting
  • Promote and support Zeno’s commitment to a strong safety culture through active participation and engagement in safety activities

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Associate's degree or higher in Chemistry or a related field from an accredited university
  • 2+ years of laboratory experience
  • Hands-on experience in disciplines related to analytical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, and materials science
  • Ability to communicate across disciplines
  • Highly skilled in managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of meeting deadlines and performing under pressure in an uncertain environment
  • Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to coordinate and lead efforts with minimal direction
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach and eagerness to learn
  • Must have excellent research, writing, and oral communication skills

Job Functions

  • Position requires in-office presence in Seattle (South Lake Union) Monday-Friday, with option to occasionally work from home on Mondays and Fridays with Manager approval
  • Travel: Travel is required, <10%
  • Motor Abilities: Sitting and/or standing for extended periods, bending/stooping, grasping/gripping, fine motor control (hands)
  • Physical exertion and/or requirements: Minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds minimal, with ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds such as heavier equipment or bulk supplies that could require occasional lifting
  • Repetitive work: Prolonged
  • Special Senses: Visual and audio focused work
  • Work Conditions: Stairs, typing/keyboard, standard and/or sitting working environment of >8 hrs./day

Compensation and Benefits

The anticipated salary band for this position is $100,000-125,000. The final job level and compensation will be determined by various factors such as a candidate's relevant work experience, years of relevant experience, skills, qualifications, certifications, and other business considerations.
