WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
As a member of the APLA GEL Express Lane team, you will inform, drive and facilitate decisions throughout the product creation process to meet or exceed the design vision, athlete performance and product excellence. You will be an active thought partner with Design, Product Management, Sourcing Costing, Materials, Trims, and our Factory partners to develop processes and tools that push boundaries and create solutions that support the creation of Nike’s game changing apparel products.
The Senior Apparel Developer coordinates the print, graphic, and trim development from initial concept through to commercialization and production for assigned styles to lead to on time delivery and development according to critical dates and product specification. Attention to detail, operational excellence and cross functional communication will be paramount as we work with Design Schematics, Bill of Materials, Family Files and Style Trackers.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Create and enable the commercialization of highly crafted graphic and trim driven garments, utilizing existing chassis
- Track against and facilitate prototyping for your styles while tailoring the graphics/trims to the specific consumer needs
- Manage assigned style count from Brief to Buy Ready according to critical dates, product specifications including silhouette, materials, trims and graphics
- Will be responsible for managing styles for both Nike and Jordan Apparel
- Build and maintain BOMs in PPS for assigned styles and updating as needed per factory/ PCC feedback
- This includes file conversion to .pdf and posting to factory Box folders
- Create and maintain development and factory tracking tools in Excel
- Manage files to ensure data accuracy and uploading to Box folders for cross functional partners
- Seasonal color data entry into PSTLATOR system
- Enter information into SPIs at necessary checkpoints for accurate Buy Ready reporting
- Assist Design in creation of seasonal style schematics in Adobe Illustrator
- Responsible for building Family Files to be uploaded to MMX
- Help lead seasonal graphic/style review meetings, communicating fit, and graphic elements with your triad partners
- Maintain and update schematics through Prototype reviews and factory feedback
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
As a member of the APLA GEL Product Development team, you will work collaboratively with key functional partners throughout the Product Development process. You will partner with Development, Design, Product Management, Sourcing/Costing and Factory Partners to help support commercialization of our seasonal product line.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, experience or training
- A minimum of 3 years directly relevant work experience
- Bias towards action and comfortable working in ambiguous environments
- Adjust to changing circumstances and adapt to ensure product excellence
- Strong problem solving, organization and communication skills
- Experience interpreting design intent, offering alternative solutions, and acting as a technical resource
- Experience working with factory vendors
- Ability to manage multiple projects. Must be a self-starter
- Experience using Adobe Illustrator is a must and Photoshop
- Experience using PPS, PCX and MMX systems
