This is a remote position available to candidates residing in AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, MO, NC, SC, TN, or TX.
Position Summary:
This role plays an integral part in designing Southern’s products and experiences across both consumer and business segments to ensure Southern has the right offerings and market positioning to achieve its growth goals. The role will contribute to the organization's product and customer experience practice and will be responsible for streamlining current consumer and business products while developing new products and services to best serve our target customers. This will be achieved through the creation of well-designed customer journeys, related processes, and user-friendly technology.
Performance will be measured based on product profitability, as well as the success of helping customers increase homeownership, job creation, and savings in the markets we serve and target.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate on the design of financial products and services that enable our customers to improve their financial position, including product features and experiences.
- Own the product roadmap and provide visibility into sequencing, timing, and trade-offs to achieve the vision.
- Foster a design culture that integrates customer feedback and user research throughout the product development process.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and demonstrate progress as business changes are implemented.
- Implement financial discipline to ensure that product strategy aligns with budget constraints.
- Provide clear expectations regarding the financial and customer impacts associated with changes to product offerings.
- Develop requirements, features, value propositions, and experiences for product and service offerings.
- Partner with internal departments to drive the product roadmap, prioritize initiatives, and deliver results.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and competitive product offerings.
- Collaborate closely with Marketing and Communications to drive customer acquisition and ensure adoption of new products.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 6-8 years of experience in banking or credit union product organizations.
- Proven track record of contributing to successful product launches and growth.
- Experience developing channels to gather customer feedback, including pain points and complaints, and utilizing both primary and secondary research to understand the voice of the customer.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies, design thinking, and product management principles, ensuring iterative delivery, customer-focused design, and outcome-driven results.
- Strong understanding of market research and analysis.
- Experience leveraging modern technology and selecting vendors to deliver a competitive customer experience.
- Ability to act as a change agent and help others embrace change.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively.
- Excellent project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
