Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office.

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Co-op to join our team in Toronto. Reporting to the Director, Industrial Engineering, this role will focus on developing and optimizing data-driven reports and automation solutions to support strategic business decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to translate complex business needs into actionable insights.
  • Build and manage data models and analytics to support various operational and strategic projects.
    • Analyzing store operating models to optimize efficiency and resource allocation.
    • Working with shrink data to identify trends and support loss prevention strategies.
    • Conducting time studies in stores to assess productivity and improve operational workflows.
  • Identify and implement process automation solutions using Power Automate, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business requirements.
  • Work cross-functionally to provide data-driven recommendations and support key initiatives.
  • Conduct business case evaluations, generate reports, and contribute to ongoing operational improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a university program in Industrial Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate data effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SQL; experience with Power BI and Power Automate is an asset.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical insights clearly.
