The Opportunity
Valvoline has a rewarding opportunity as a Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all elements of strategic sourcing throughout the organization. This includes driving the development and execution of sourcing strategies. The Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing will also develop key business partnerships and deliver value through innovative sourcing strategies that support the goals and objectives of the organization.
How You'll Make a Difference
Drive and implement sourcing strategies that align with the business needs of the organization. This will require developing and executing the strategies that deliver improvements in cost, quality, service, and support standardization. Redefining our supply base, develop new suppliers as required, and create preferred supplier programs.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, such as product development, portfolio management, marketing, central operations, and supply chain, to align sourcing strategies with business objectives. Then prioritize and align the direct material procurement strategy, goals & objectives through sourcing strategies (supplier selection, management, etc.).
Evaluate and assess supplier performance, conducting regular supplier audits and implementing improvement plans as needed. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence and create an environment oriented to trust, open communication, and innovative thinking.
Portfolio manager for contract related updates between the vendor and the senior leadership team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 10 years in a Strategic Sourcing leadership role
Strong knowledge of sourcing processes, strategies, and best practices
Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, inclusive of their executive leadership
Experience with understanding, analyzing, and forecasting key global commodity cost drivers
Strategic Mindset – anticipates future trends and implications accurately
Decision Quality – relies on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment when making decisions
Business Insight – keeps up with current and possible future policies, practices, and trends in the organization, function, and in the marketplace
Executive presence and confidence when in the spotlight
Previous experience and ability to manage projects involving cross-functional teams
