Job Description:

The Mobile Crisis Therapist positions provide person-focused therapeutic services for individuals experiencing mental and behavioral health events of varying acuity, inclusive of substance use and/or withdrawal. The position contributes to the collaborative plan of care and delivery of services to individuals through assessment, evaluation, crisis interventions, referrals, development, and implementation of treatment plans using outcome-based goals. 

Essential Duties:

  • Provide a full range of crisis and behavior stabilization services supporting clients with a variety of behavioral health needs.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments for individuals in crisis and/or who are experiencing high acuity behavioral health symptoms in the western Maryland area,
  • In collaboration with a peer recovery specialist, nurse, and/or other professional team members, provide appropriate crisis intervention(s), supportive counseling, and de-escalation support.
  • Coordinate with natural and paid support systems for transportation to emergency rooms, shelters, or outpatient clinics for the provision of care as determined appropriate through the assessment process.
  • Provide services in the home, schools, hospitals, or at other community facilities.
  • Coordinate with schools, parents/guardians, family, DSS, and other youth providers.
  • Using established mechanisms/processes, refer individuals to outpatient facilities and services.
  • Complete timely and accurate documentation of all clinical and client-related information
  • Attend MCRSS and other relevant training courses as offered and available.
  • Coordinate and act as a liaison as assigned and appropriate for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate adherence to company policies and expectations and behavioral competencies, both explicit and implicit.
  • All tasks, projects, and/or duties as assigned and authorized which are congruent as determined by Direct Supervisor (or designated delegate) to be congruent with the role.
Qualifications

Education:             

                Masters in Clinical Psychology (MA or MS), Required, OR
                Masters in Social Work (MSW), Required

Experience:            

                2 years of experience as a counseling professional, Required
                Completion of Licensure Supervisory Hours, Required 

Additional:            

                Valid and unrestricted driver’s license, Required
                Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products, Required
                Proficiency and familiarity with EHR/EMR systems, Preferred

Credentials:    

                Current LCPC/LCSW licensure in Maryland, Required
                Current BLS Certification, Preferred

Physical Demands:    

                Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk or computer workstation.
                Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
                Must be able to lift weights up to 50 pounds at times.
