Business Development Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Development Manager is a key driver of AbleNet's growth and success, responsible for achieving strategic goals by fostering trust and engaging with high-potential leads. This role focuses on educating professionals about AbleNet’s Medical Funding Service and the QuickTalker Freestyle Speech Device. By doing so, the manager supports the communication needs of students and clients, facilitating the adoption of innovative solutions to enhance their quality of life.

A significant aspect of this role involves conducting meetings and information sessions to help Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) understand who on their caseload can benefit from a speech device and how AbleNet’s funding service can best meet their needs. The manager provides guidance on how AbleNet’s products and services can enhance students' communication capabilities and facilitates connections between SLPs and other professionals for referrals, creating a robust network to support student needs. This outreach includes contacting SLPs in clinics, hospitals, private practices, and school districts through various channels such as virtual meetings, telephone, email, and SMS.

The Business Development Manager also plays a crucial role in prospecting within the assigned territory to generate new leads and contacts. They facilitate connections between SLPs and other professionals for referrals, creating a robust network to support student needs. They work closely with our global sales team, composed of dynamic business leaders who are goal-oriented, compassionate, empathic, curious, highly motivated, and exceptionally organized self-starters. Demonstrating fearless determination in showcasing the value of AbleNet’s solutions is essential to helping our customers recognize AbleNet as their preferred partner for products and services in the disability space.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Proactively prospect leads and contacts within the assigned territory to drive the acquisition of new customers, particularly speech-language pathologists.
2. Establish new clients through cold calling, responding to marketing leads, and leveraging existing networks.
3. Leverage key stakeholders and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide exceptional customer service, support their needs, and promote AbleNet's speech device medical funding service.
4. Schedule, confirm, and conduct customer meetings and presentations, utilizing a variety of technology solutions and best practices to educate key stakeholders and Speech-Language Pathologists about the AbleNet Funding Service Program and the QuickTalker Freestyle Speech Device.
5. Position AbleNet's speech device medical funding service as the primary resource for customer needs and demonstrate fearless determination in showcasing the value of AbleNet’s solutions.
6. Manage geographic and account territories to identify, create, develop, and manage opportunities in the sales pipeline accurately and consistently in Salesforce to achieve sales targets and goals.
7. Collaborate proactively with internal departments and the global sales team to address customer needs and improve outcomes.
8. Ensure CRM tools and AbleNet's sales journey methodologies are leveraged to process and track opportunities, and regularly meet or exceed individual quarterly, monthly, and weekly targets for BD KPIs, including outbound activity, opportunities generated, and closed business.
9. Facilitate connections between Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) and other professionals for referrals, creating a robust network to support student needs.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education & Experience

Will experience be accepted in lieu of education requirements?

1. Educational and Professional Credentials: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist preferred.
2. Experience with AAC: Minimum of 5 years of experience working with individuals using AAC in clinical and/or school settings; direct experience with AbleNet's funding service for speech devices preferred.
3. Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), CRM software (SalesForce, HubSpot), and virtual platforms like Zoom; general computer skills and software experience preferred.
4. Organizational and Interpersonal Skills: Highly organized, self-starter, motivated, goal-oriented, passionate, confident, resilient, energetic, with a strong work ethic, compassionate, and empathetic.
5. Presentation and Communication Skills: Demonstrates excellence in presentation skills with strategic messaging; strong verbal skills with consultative professional business acumen; proficient in pipeline development and management.
