The Director of Service Business Operations for Leica Biosystems is responsible for leading the Service Sales team, overseeing all activities related to service sales management, optimizing operational processes, and driving strategic growth initiatives.
This position is part of the North America Selling Unit located in Deer Park, IL and will be fully REMOTE. At Leica Biosystems, our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
Reporting to the Senior Director of North America Service, the Director of Service Business Operations will be responsible for maintaining a proactive understanding of industry trends and competitive positioning, leveraging this knowledge to drive strategic improvements. This person will also be involved in defining value propositions, developing marketing materials, managing service margins, costs, and pricing strategies. In this role, you will have the importunity to:
- Service Sales Management: Oversee and drive the service sales team to achieve revenue targets and ensure customer satisfaction. Develop and implement strategies to expand service offerings and capture new business opportunities.
- Manage and optimize service delivery processes to enhance efficiency and profitability. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline operations.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Align service business operations with overall company goals and objectives.
- Conduct thorough market analysis and assess the Total Available Market (TAM) to identify growth opportunities. Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Utilize market insights to inform strategic decisions and business plans.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to senior leadership, showcasing performance metrics, strategic plans, and value propositions.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to refine messaging and positioning, and to develop marketing materials that effectively communicate service benefits and drive customer engagement.
- Monitor and manage service margins, cost of service, and set appropriate pricing strategies to maintain profitability. Collaborate with finance and sales operations teams to develop pricing models and discount structures.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience in service sales, business operations, or a related field, with at least 10 years in a leadership role OR Master's degree with 3 years of experience in service sales, business operations, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong understanding of service delivery processes, operational efficiency, and profitability management.
- Ability to conduct market analysis and develop strategic plans.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated experience in developing marketing materials and value propositions. Strong financial acumen and experience in managing margins, costs, and pricing strategies.
Travel Requirements:
- This position requires up to 25% travel. Travel will primarily be domestic, mainly to visit the Deer Park, IL office on a monthly basis. Travel may occasionally be international.

The annual salary range for this role is $170,000.00-$210,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
