Job description

This is not a remote role - candidates must be located in the Dallas area.

Company Overview: Our client, the largest hail repair shop in Dallas is looking to expand their team and hire a motivated Staff Accountant. Their organization consists of three companies.

    They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant with a specialization in Accounts Receivable (A/R) but with a well-rounded full cycle accounting background. This role offers the opportunity to work across multiple entities within the organization and grow into responsibilities around closing the books. Bilingual preferred but not required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Accounts Receivable Management:
      • Oversee the entire A/R process including invoicing, payment posting, and collections for all three entities.
      • Ensure timely and accurate billing to customers and monitor aging receivables.
      • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (such as insurance companies for auto repairs) to streamline A/R processes.
    2. Full Cycle Accounting:
      • Assist in general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries.
      • Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures.
      • Prepare financial statements and reports, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with organizational objectives.
      • Experience with intercompany transactions, including tracking and reconciling financial activities between Dent Mechanic Group, Real Estate Holdings, and the rental fleet company.
    3. Cross-Company Transactions:
      • Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions between the three entities.
      • Maintain proper documentation and internal controls for intercompany allocations and charges.
      • Work with management to streamline processes for multi-entity financial reporting.
    4. Team Management:
      • Help supervise a team of remote bookkeepers, ensuring they accurately record financial transactions and maintain high data integrity.
      • Provide guidance, training, and regular feedback to remote staff to ensure performance standards are met.
      • Help conduct regular audits of the bookkeeping data to ensure compliance with company standards.
    5. Process Improvement:
      • Evaluate and improve A/R processes to reduce aging receivables and enhance efficiency.
      • Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflow between operations and accounting.
      • Help Implement accounting policies and procedures that maintain consistency across all three companies.
    6. Financial Analysis & Reporting:
      • Prepare A/R reports and summaries for management, highlighting key trends and opportunities for improvement.
      • Support financial audits and provide necessary documentation.
      • Assist in creating budgets, forecasts, and financial plans as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a similar field preferred but not required
    • 3-5+ years of accounting experience
    • Full cycle accounting experience
    • Strong AR experience
    • Knowledge of GAAP
    • Proficient in QBO
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively with clients on billing and payments
    • Ability to meet deadlines and adapt to unexpected changes
    • Bilingual Preferred but not required
