Job description

We’re UserTesting, a leader in experience research and insights; we believe the path to human understanding and great experiences start with a shared understanding—seeing and hearing how another person engages with the world around them and taking in their perspective. Working at UserTesting, you will be empowered to help organizations  discover the human side of business–transforming how they work, collaborate, innovate, and bring new products and experiences to market. This is what inspires us, and it’s how we enable companies to connect with their audiences naturally and organically through an experience that is uniquely, and intentionally human.

A trusted company by top brands for 15+ years, UserTesting, recently merged with UserZoom, has over 3,400 customers in 50 countries, including 75 of the Fortune 100 companies. Joining our team means being part of a passionate group focused on transforming how companies learn from and understand their customers. Come join us and help us build the engine for human understanding.

The Opportunity

The Head of People Operations and Centers of Excellence (CoE) is a pivotal leader within the People Leadership Team, responsible for shaping and driving a high-performance, people-first culture amid ongoing transformation. This role will build a resilient, adaptable HR infrastructure that supports business growth, scalability, and the potential for acquisitions.

Reporting to the Chief Transformation Officer, this leader will oversee Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, People Operations, and People Analytics, ensuring they operate as strategic drivers of business success. A deep understanding of private equity models and their impact on workforce strategy is a strong plus, as the company positions itself for growth and operational scale.

This is a highly strategic and execution-focused role, requiring a leader who thrives at the intersection of business transformation, talent strategy, and performance culture.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Strategic Leadership & Partnership

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive HR CoE strategy that balances a high-performance culture with a people-first approach, ensuring employees thrive amid ongoing transformation.

    • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive data-driven HR decision-making, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and readiness for growth, including potential acquisitions.

    • Establish scalable, seamless HR processes that support business growth, talent retention, and operational excellence, ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of a private equity-backed environment.

  • Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

    • Oversee the Talent Acquisition function, ensuring a strategic approach to attracting and retaining top talent.

    • Develop proactive, agile hiring strategies that support business scalability, DEI priorities, and evolving workforce needs.

    • Collaborate with business leaders and People Business Partners to ensure talent planning and workforce strategies align with long-term business growth, including potential M&A activity.

  • Total Rewards & Compensation

    • Oversee compensation, benefits, and total rewards strategies to drive a high-performance culture, ensuring rewards are competitive and aligned with business outcomes.

  • HR Operations & Systems

    • Lead and support the People Ops function, ensuring operational excellence, efficiency, and HR scalability.

    • Optimize HR processes, systems, and workflows to enable seamless, high-impact employee and manager experiences.

    • Implement HR automation and technology advancements to streamline onboarding, workforce management, and operational efficiencies at scale.

    • Establish a resilient HR infrastructure that supports organizational transformation, acquisitions, and rapid business growth.

    • Own the strategic direction and optimization of Workday, ensuring it effectively supports HR operations, data integrity, and business needs while driving continuous system improvements and automation.

    • Provide oversight for all HR systems, ensuring seamless integration, data accuracy, and compliance while identifying opportunities to enhance system capabilities to support business growth and workforce planning.

  • People Analytics & Insights

    • Build a robust People Analytics function to deliver predictive insights and enable data-driven decision-making across all HR functions.

    • Provide leadership teams with real-time insights on workforce trends, engagement levels, and succession planning, ensuring proactive decision-making in a dynamic business environment.

The Team

Our People team includes People Business Partners, People Ops, IDEB, Employee Experience, L&D, Workplace and Culture, Talent Acquisition and more! We’re spread across the USA, Canada, UK, Spain and France and work with stakeholders across the entire business

What We Are Looking For

  • Leadership & HR Expertise – Proven experience leading HR Centers of Excellence, ideally in a high-growth, global organization.

  • People-First Mindset – Passion for employee experience, talent development, and culture-building.

  • Strategic & Operational Excellence – Ability to balance high-level strategy with hands-on execution.
