The VP of Technical Program Management will organize and manage the development and execution of complex technical product solutions, cross-functional programs, and departmental process. This role is pivotal in driving technical and product strategy, managing end-to-end execution, and delivering state-of-the-art products that align with the organization’s strategic goals.
As a senior leader, you will influence, establish cross-functional alignment, and ensure that programs deliver impact at scale. The ideal candidate is a visionary thinker with technical expertise, multifaceted organizational skills, and a proven ability to navigate complex organizations.
What you’ll do:
- Define, manage, and execute strategic technical and product roadmaps, aligning with company goals and priorities.
- Build and lead high-performing teams of technical program managers and project managers...providing mentorship, fostering collaboration, growth and alignment with organizational goals.
- Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for impact and guide high-level technical and product strategies.
- Be hands-on with managing products and programs for end-to-end product development teams, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
- Oversee cross-functional program execution, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Lead strategy for teams to develop and maintain project plans, coordination of day-to-day activities across multiple teams, identifying resource needs, balancing project schedules and reporting on progress, dependencies and risks.
- Augment product engineering leaders by driving technical discussions, UX discussions, and requirements gathering.
- Establish shared goals with UX, engineering, and operations teams across the organization to build alignment and scale solutions.
- Influence and drive alignment on priorities and direction for broadly cross-functional areas.
- Point of contact for executive-level and cross-departmental stakeholders, ensuring timely communication of planning, project status, risks, and decisions.
- Design and implement measurements to track program impact and efficiency.
- Drive internal process improvements to enhance execution and collaboration.
- Develop analytics and reporting to assess program health and inform strategic adjustments.
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering and/or hardware engineering
- 2+ years of experience leading technical product or program management teams
- Strong hands-on coding background with proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript).
- Proven track record of driving and delivering complex technical programs and products from inception to delivery.
- Experience defining and executing strategic roadmaps in collaboration with executive stakeholders.
- Strong technical knowledge of platforms, systems, and technologies underpinning customer-facing products.
- Expertise in managing cross-functional initiatives in a distributed, matrixed organization.
