Job description

LightFeather is seeking a highly motivated and mission-oriented ServiceNow SME to join our team in Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing, configuring, and implementing ServiceNow applications and enhancements, with a strong background in supporting federal clients. This role requires expertise in ServiceNow platform architecture, scripting, integrations, and best practices to maintain platform stability and optimize business processes.

This is a Full Time, Remote Position.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications, modules, and workflows to meet business needs.
  • Work across multiple ServiceNow instances and domains, supporting both internal and external customers.
  • Implement and maintain ServiceNow best practices, ensuring adherence to development and architectural standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, systems engineers, and technology teams to gather requirements and translate them into functional ServiceNow solutions.
  • Develop custom scripts, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, ACLs, Workflow Activities, Notifications, and UI Actions in ServiceNow.
  • Utilize Agile/Scrum methodologies to plan, track, and deliver development tasks.
  • Design and implement Service Catalogs, Service Portals, and custom reports within the ServiceNow ecosystem.
  • Facilitate and support the rollout of new applications, modules, and platform upgrades.
  • Integrate ServiceNow with external applications and enterprise tools using REST, SOAP, JDBC, JSON, XML, and MID Server.
  • Conduct performance analysis and optimization, ensuring efficient and scalable ServiceNow implementations.
  • Provide technical guidance and architectural input to ensure robust, secure, and compliant solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow issues, ensuring platform stability and availability.
  • Maintain compliance with ITIL/ITSM, IT Service Management, Asset and Configuration Management, and Change Management processes.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • US Citizenship.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret/Top Secret clearance.
  • 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience in designing and implementing solutions.
  • Strong expertise in ServiceNow platform administration, development, and configuration.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, REST, SOAP, and JSON.
  • Experience with Business Rules, Client Scripts, UI Policies, Workflow Automations, Flow Designer, and Integration Hub.
  • Familiarity with database structures, relationships, and query optimization in ServiceNow.
  • Experience in creating and customizing Service Catalogs, Service Portals, and Dashboards.
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, Asset Management, and Event Management.
  • Experience integrating ServiceNow with third-party tools and platforms via APIs, Web Services, and MID Servers.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL v3/v4, ITSM, and Agile methodologies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve ServiceNow performance and security issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) – Highly Preferred
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
  • ITIL v4 Foundation Certification
  • Experience working in federal government environments with compliance and security considerations.
  • Knowledge of Orchestration, Virtual Agent, Performance Analytics, and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices within ServiceNow.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data modeling, and analytics.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior developers on ServiceNow best practices and architecture.
