Health & Safety Consultant – London Area
Salary: £44,000 - £48,400

Whether you have experience in the building industry, insurance, or risk management, this role will allow you to enhance health & safety practices and drive positive change across UK GI Claims.
A bit about the job:
As a Health & Safety Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying risks, ensuring compliance, and providing expert H&S consultancy services across Aviva’s UK GI Claims business. You will work closely with the Health & Safety team, supply chain, and Aviva Claims/Field Operations to ensure that robust controls and procedures are in place. Your role will involve reviewing management systems, risk assessments, and policies, while also supporting training and emergency preparedness initiatives. Additionally, you will play a key role in accident investigations and driving continual improvement in health & safety performance.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
NEBOSH Certificate (General or Construction), with additional certifications in Asbestos Awareness and CDM Awareness required.
CISRS Scaffold Inspection Certificate (Basic) or P402 Buildings survey Bulk sampling for Asbestos preferred but not essential.
Ability to conduct risk assessments, oversee safe systems of work, and support accident investigations.
Strong knowledge of health and safety principles and practical experience within a relevant industry (e.g., building, insurance, risk management).
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
