The Opportunity
As a dedicated Risk Analyst Senior, you will lead efforts to identify, assess, and handle privacy risks across the organization. Evaluate enterprise and business-level privacy risks, including emerging risks, and provide mentorship on mitigation strategies. Collaborate with internal partners to build and maintain privacy policies, procedures and controls that align with regulatory requirements and interpersonal objectives. Continuously monitor the privacy risk environment, providing effective challenge. Escalate significant risks to governance bodies as needed. Support compliance testing, incident response activities, and remediation efforts for privacy-related issues. Act as a subject matter expert on privacy risk management, advising business divisions on standard methodologies while fostering a culture of data protection.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
- Partners with vital team members in the business to identify, assess, aggregate and document risks and controls, including risks associated with new or modified products, services, distribution channels, regulations and third-party operations using advanced knowledge.
- Communicates’ s results of risk assessments to governance committees, business process owners and various levels of leadership.
- Implements new risk policies, practices, appetites and solutions to ensure comprehensive understanding and management of risks according to industry standard process.
- Improves and contributes to strategies, tools, and methodologies to measure, monitor, and report risks.
- Applies sophisticated knowledge to use or produce analytical material for discussions with cross functional teams to understand business objectives and influence solution strategies.
- Serves as a key contributor in cross-functional teams to identify, assess, aggregate and mitigate current and emerging risk events.
- Formulates stress test plans for a line of business or the enterprise including the evaluation of results and framing of contingency plans in partnership with key business partners.
What you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or a related field OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required (10 years total experience) may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- 6 years of risk management, regulatory or operations experience in a relevant functional area to include banking, insurance, financial services, audit, project management, public accounting or other related operational area. Or advanced degree/designation in Risk Management, Business, Finance, or other subject area relevant to risk management and 4 years of work experience in a subject area relevant to risk management.
- Risk management experience in a complex institution and/or highly matrixed environment.
- Shown experience in conflict resolution management and ability to optimally challenge at all levels of management and influence business outcomes.
- Ability to effectively work with both internal and external partners in a highly collaborative environment.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques and decision-making abilities, to include ability to effectively make data-driven decisions.
- Proactively identifies potential concerns and follows-up to resolve issues.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint.
What sets you apart:
- Deep understanding of privacy laws, rules and regulations, both domestic and global-such as GLBA, GDPR, CCPA, CPRA, TCPA, CAN-SPAM, and HIPAA.
- Shown ability to conduct comprehensive privacy risk assessments, including identifying risks, evaluating their likelihood and impact, and implementing targeted mitigation strategies.
- Ability to collaborate across departments, and effectively communicate risks and remediation plans.
- Background in privacy within a financial institution and/or insurance organization.
- Experience working with Tableau and developing PowerPoint Presentations to communicate findings to senior management.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) certification.
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
Compensation range: The salary range for this position is: $103,450.00 - $197,730.00.
Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location.
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
