Claims Manager Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and collections, preferably in behavioral health or substance abuse treatment
  • Strong knowledge of billing software, insurance claims, collections processes, and reimbursement procedures
  • Experience managing billing and collections teams and implementing process improvements
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Commitment to promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion

Claims Manager Responsibilities

  • Oversee all billing and collections operations, including claims submission, payment posting, and follow-up on unpaid claims
  • Manage and train billing and collections staff to ensure accurate and timely claim processing and collections
  • Monitor accounts receivable and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances and improve cash flow
  • Collaborate with the revenue cycle team to streamline billing and collections processes
  • Communicate with insurance companies and payers to resolve billing and collections issues and discrepancies
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations related to billing, collections, and reimbursement
  • Prepare and analyze billing and collections reports to provide insights to senior management
  • Stay up-to-date with industry standards, billing codes, and collections procedures
  • Assist with audits and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Ensure patient confidentiality in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Pay: $80,000-95,000

Schedule: Full time M-F
