Position Description
XPRIZE offers a meaningful part-time, remote, summer internship program spanning from June 9, 2025 - August 15, 2025 to undergraduate or graduate students looking to gain work experience in an exciting non-profit organization. Interns will participate in virtual social activities with their cohort, be provided with learning and professional development opportunities, and present a final research project to their department.
The XPRIZE Water Scarcity Team is seeking a 2025 Summer Intern to join our team during the critical Team Recruitment and Qualifying Submissions Phase.
The Water Scarcity Research Analyst Intern will support the prize operations team by gathering, reviewing, and reporting data from newly registered and qualified teams. This position requires close collaboration with the Prize Operations team to analyze current data and trends, ensuring the creation of high-quality reports that inform decision-making and shape the overall strategy and promotion of the competition.
This internship offers an opportunity to support key initiatives by contributing to the evaluation and analysis of data from registered teams. The intern will play an important role in achieving our team support goals, helping to review and organize data, and generating insights to create high quality reports that will inform future decision-making and planning.
In addition, the intern will conduct research to identify candidates for team support initiatives, as well as plan for future interactive events, directly contributing to the success and growth of the competition. As an integral member of the prize operations team, the intern is expected to attend and actively participate in key meetings.
This position is ideal for someone passionate about addressing global water challenges and excited to contribute to impactful work during this pivotal stage of the competition.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with research projects by gathering data, analyzing trends, generating reports, and presenting your findings to support decision-making processes within the Water Scarcity competition
- Understand and work with the prize operations team and marketing team to put together a registered Teams Lookbook to be shared with external stakeholders
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and track action items that fall under this role and execute within given deadlines
- Research best practices for a future Team Investment Summit and work with the Prize Operations team to develop concept
- Create and present on the final deliverables to your team

- Competing Teams Lookbook
- Innovation Landscape Report(s) (from registration and qualifying submissions data)
- Team Investment Summit Proposal
Qualifications:
- Proficient in Google Drive Suite (including Docs, Slides, and Sheets)
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Proficiency in analyzing and visualizing data
- Excellent attention to detail and problem solving skills
- An interest in water initiatives and/or seawater desalination technology is a plus, as the role offers an opportunity to contribute to meaningful innovations addressing global water scarcity challenges.
- Passion for solving global issues
- Must be a rising Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program or higher in a related field
- Availability to work from 9:00am-1:00pm PST Monday-Friday for the duration of the 10-week program

The anticipated compensation for this position is $18/hour to $22/hour. The actual compensation offered will depend on a variety of factors including the qualifications of the individual applicant, years of relevant experience for the role, level of education attained, and certifications and/or other licenses held. XPRIZE is a remote-first environment.
