CLOUD ENGINEER

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-based solutions in a secure and scalable environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security standards, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance. This role requires expertise in cloud platforms, automation, and security best practices to support mission-critical operations.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud-based infrastructure solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments
• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
• Ensure cloud security compliance by implementing best practices, encryption, IAM policies, and security frameworks
• Automate deployment, monitoring, and scaling of cloud applications to enhance system reliability and performance
• Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to optimize performance
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and development teams to integrate cloud technologies into business operations
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, security vulnerabilities, and cost optimization opportunities
• Maintain compliance with government security standards (FISMA, NIST, FedRAMP) and industry best practices
• Provide technical expertise for disaster recovery, backup solutions, and business continuity planning
• Stay updated with emerging cloud technologies and trends, ensuring the organization remains competitive

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Hands-on experience with cloud networking, security, and IAM policies
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS, AKS)
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including VPCs, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Security+ certification (Required)
• Eligible for a Secret Security Clearance (Required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Architect
• Experience working in government or DoD cloud environments
• Understanding of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and cloud security frameworks
• Experience implementing hybrid cloud solutions and migration strategies
