What you will be doing in the role of a Product Manager. Digital Marketing & Web

At Susan G Komen, we leverage various business solutions across our organization to facilitate day-to-day operations. These business solutions traverse many departments and business processes, ranging from large enterprise platforms to 'home-grown' solutions. As a Product Manager, you'll play an integral role in ensuring that we're using the right business solutions to their full potential to meet ongoing business needs and support our corporate mission. This position will work in lockstep with application and domain leaders to create a clear strategic direction that the product development team will deliver. You will work with the team with a clear and descriptive set of requirements and deliver product features and functions by balancing customer needs with business strategies and minimizing defects and technical debt.

The person in this role will report to the Director of Product Management and interact with key stakeholders from the Mission team and supporting groups, including Marketing, Operations, and IT. These groups leverage technology solutions to facilitate constituent and partner relationship management, research grant and research data management, advocacy, health education, and health services.

What you will bring to the table

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, subject matter experts, and other product managers, to lead the full development lifecycle. This involves understanding user needs and applying product and technical expertise to address them.
  • Conduct thorough research and validate user needs and product capabilities, translating these insights into clear, actionable requirements for the development team.
  • Work in partnership with engineering to understand resource availability and technical constraints, identifying solutions for new initiatives.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of marketing cloud products, using this understanding to inform buying, building, and partnering decisions.
  • Define the strategy and roadmap for Marketing Cloud and Web.
  • Ensure internal customers derive value from our tools and technologies, monitoring satisfaction and iterating on features and functionalities to meet evolving needs.
  • Contribute to refining and enhancing the product team's processes for discovering, validating, designing, and developing features. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve product development workflows.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to establish the product vision, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the product team.
  • Collaborate with staff and external partners to create and maintain key product documentation, including customer journey map, process mapping, user stories, etc.
  • Build and prioritize product backlog to achieve OKRs.
  • Continuously update the backlog through meetings with stakeholders and the product team.
  • Proven experience in implementing software products, with a track record of success.
  • Contribute to optimizing business processes and the effective use of solutions to meet company objectives.
  • Empathy for all stakeholders, with strong diplomacy skills that foster cross-team collaboration.
  • Ability to derive insights from data to make informed decisions.
  • Understanding of Agile principles.
  • Ability to prioritize projects with clarity and purpose, ensuring alignment among stakeholders and KPIs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with stakeholders, presenting ideas, and documenting product requirements.
  • The ability to adapt and iterate to changing priorities, requirements, and organizational needs is crucial. 
  • Understanding the needs of users, stakeholders, and team members is essential for creating user-centric solutions.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.

We know you will have and be able to

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. and at least 5 years of experience as a product manager or in other equivalent positions.
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused organization.
  • Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Asana) for backlog management and collaboration.
  • Understanding of software development processes (e.g., Agile, Kanban).
  • Knowledge of data analytics and reporting tools to track product performance.
  • Experience working with and integrating with CRM, Email & Reporting platforms is a plus.
  • Creative and strategic thinking as well as attention to detail.
  • No travel is required, other than a potential once a year all staff meeting.

We would love if you also have

  • Domain experience in Healthcare & Life Sciences.
  • Solid understanding of CRM, data integrations and management, and other healthcare solutions. 
  • Experience with the following platforms: Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Proposal Central, Capital Canary, and WordPress.
