Job description

Job Summary:

The Billing Trainer will design, conduct and organize training programs to orient new employees to computer and phone systems they will utilize to perform their work duties, and the processes and procedures to be followed when performing their work duties. Continuing education may also be conducted to improve employee performance and ensure organizational productivity.

Essential Functions: In addition to working as prescribed in our Performance Factors specific responsibilities of this role include:

  • Preparing logins and security for learning system(s) with coursework assignments for new students prior to their hire dates.
  • Training new hires to navigate and make notations within various EHRs, and collections software.
  • Training new hires to utilize electronic/cloud-based phone systems.
  • Training new hires to obtain assistance or locate resources to help them succeed.
  • Documenting each student’s challenges and progress and suggesting to education and divisional managers areas where more time and one on one coaching is needed.
  • Suggest to the education manager ways to improve training so that employees provide high-quality service to our clients.
  • Showing confidence with internal and external customers.
  • Showing initiative to research topics on their own.
  • Being accessible as a resource to other team members and coworkers throughout the company.
  • Taking ownership of special projects assigned by management.
  • Demonstrating excellent organizational and time management skills.

Minimum Requirements:

Education/Experience/Certification Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years’ prior experience in the healthcare environment.
  • Experience with using an electronic/cloud-based phone system.
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and time-management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to follow through on issues to resolution.
  • Able to act both independently, and as a team member.
  • Displays a passion for learning.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to facilitate live training with both employees and customers.
  • Able to guide in-person and remote students in utilizing a computer and in trouble-shooting computer and connectivity issues.
  • Able to gather all pertinent information for projects and training.
  • Able to display a friendly, calm, and professional demeanor always, even under times of high stress.
  • Able and willing to work in a team setting.
  • Able and willing to work a fluctuating schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with training others on software applications within a healthcare environment.
