We are looking for a detail-oriented and strategically minded Financial Analyst to join our ThermoSafe Business Unit.  While reporting to the Division Finance Manager - ThermoSafe, you will be responsible for assisting in all phases of planning and various types of financial analysis as it pertains to the ThermoSafe Rental program.  As the Rental Program Financial Analyst for our ThermoSafe Business Unit team, your responsibilities include:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Full ownership of the Rental Program P&L
  • Lead month-end reporting and variance analysis as it pertains to both sales and COGS
  • Oversee Rental Program inventory to monitor changes and help explain large monthly and quarterly variances
  • Assist in the annual budgeting process as it pertains to both Orion and Pegasus programs.
  • Assist with preparation of explanations / commentary of variances to prior year and budget.
  • Conduct financial analysis and special project work for the rental program, including preparation of various pro formas, discounted cash flows, ROI’s as they related to major new business opportunities.
  • Assist in meeting all SOX requirements in the program.
  • Provide financial analysis assistance to Orion Rental Program manager, as well as the Rental Program Supply Chain analysts
  • Recommend and implement appropriate models / electronic spreadsheets to improve forecasting, planning, scheduling, and analytics.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to grasp a general knowledge of multiple disciplines and technologies.
  • Strong analytical capabilities. Comfortable with synthesizing large quantity of data
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Takes initiative to ask questions
  • Ability to effectively organize and structure activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle ambiguity

Required Experience/Education:

  • Four Year Undergraduate Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business or equivalent - Master’s degree a plus
  • Preferred Certifications: CPA, CMA
  • 3 - 5 years of financial experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Strong knowledge of Sonoco's business and/or experience in other manufacturing settings

This is a progression position and could be a level I or II.  Compensation and progression level will be based on candidate’s experience and education, and current business needs.

Compensation:

The annual base salary range for this role is from $80,320 to $90,360.
