School & Community Relations Specialist II

The pay range for this position is listed below. Our pay ranges are built to allow for candidates with various levels of skill and experience to be considered, as well as for room for growth and tenure achieved in a role over time. Typical new hire salary offers fall within the minimum to midpoint of a pay range for many candidates. Any offer extended to a candidate will be based upon their unique set of knowledge, skills, education, and experience as well as internal equity.

$74,683.00 - $112,024.00

What You’ll Be Doing
Responsible for assisting the credit union in establishing and building relationships with school districts, schools, and the educational-related community in the Ventura, Santa Barbara, and North Los Angeles County regions.
This position will be based out of the individual's home but will spend most of the time in the field at meetings and events in the Ventura, Santa Barbara, and North Los Angeles County regions. The hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., early mornings, evenings, and weekends as necessary. Hours can vary depending on the event and work day.
  • Promotes the credit union’s products and services by planning, directing and coordinating activities to existing and potential Members, through school visitations, attendance at special district events, and community events.
  • Assists in managing the budget, donations and sponsorships to school districts for events with the educational community.
  • Coordinates and supervises credit union staff for events and/or presentations.
  • Assists in developing priorities and monitors status of special projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Develops written communication to team members, school employees, vendors and others regarding events and/or presentations.
  • Answers Member inquiries and provides information in accordance with credit union policy.
  • Works with Membership Development, Financial Education and Retirement Planning teams to develop and manage relationships necessary to reach goals and objectives.
  • Build relationships and inroads into new and more complex markets.
  • Performs public presentations to educate the Members and support the organization’s community and civic objectives.
  • Participates and facilitates major activities such as Academic Pentathlon, Teacher of the Year, Member Appreciation Events, Education Foundation Events, MEA Awards, and School Employee Member Celebrations.
  • Responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining relationships with key influencers in new and more complex markets by promoting credit union’s products and services, including school officials and internal departments/team members.
  • Coordinates and supervises credit union staff for events and/or presentations and works cohesively with these departments and team members to ensure everyone is offered opportunities to support organizational goals.
  • Conducts Member Service training for schools and districts when requested.
  • Attend school and community events and represent the credit union. This may include a school foundation board position.
  • Required to attend in-person functions and/or presentations at school campuses, district offices or other off-site locations, after-hours events and weekend functions as necessary.

  • Complies with regulatory compliance and assigned training requirements including but not limited to BSA regulations corresponding to their specific job duties. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary and other employment related actions

    Qualifications

    • High School Diploma or GED required
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of experience preferred
    • 3-5 years of previous related experience required
      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
      • Previous experience in community/public relations and/or retail preferred. Must be able to attend after hours and weekend functions
      • Superior oral and written communication skills
      • Public speaking skills
