Job description

Position Summary

Market Research, Specialist II will report directly to the Brand Director and will work across functions to understand current and future product offerings and will do the needed research to understand the competition, the potential customers and update and present findings to all relevant stakeholders in the organization to make business and marketing decisions.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

Market and Consumer Insights:

  • Conduct primary and secondary research to understand market trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs.
  • Develop and administer surveys, focus groups, interviews, and other research tools to gather customer insights.
  • Analyze and interpret data to identify key consumer insights, preferences, and behaviors to inform brand strategy.

Customer Persona Development:

  • Create and maintain detailed, data-driven customer personas that accurately represent target audiences across segments.
  • Synthesize demographic, psychographic, and behavioral data into comprehensive persona profiles that guide marketing, product development, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Continuously update personas based on emerging customer data and market trends to ensure relevancy and accuracy.

Competitive Analysis:

  • Continuously monitor competitors’ activities, including product launches, pricing strategies, marketing tactics, and brand positioning.
  • Develop competitive benchmarking reports and deliver insights to inform positioning and differentiation.

Brand Health Tracking:

  • Monitor and analyze brand health metrics, including brand awareness, sentiment, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Conduct brand health surveys and utilize analytical tools to assess and track brand equity and perception.

Reporting and Presenting Insights:

  • Synthesize research findings into comprehensive reports and presentations for the Brand Director and cross-functional teams.
  • Communicate findings in a clear, concise manner, making strategic recommendations based on insights.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner closely with brand strategy, marketing, product, and customer experience teams to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a thought partner to internal teams, helping to translate insights into actionable strategies.

Data Management and Tool Optimization:

  • Manage relationships with external research vendors and oversee the use of research platforms and tools.
  • Stay updated on the latest market research technologies, methodologies, and best practices to enhance research processes.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Marketing, Business, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods, including survey design, focus group moderation, and statistical analysis.
  • Proficiency with research tools (e.g., Qualtrics, SurveyMonkey, Nielsen, SPSS) and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Experience in creating and updating customer personas to guide brand and marketing strategy.

All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
