Your role will be IT Consultant – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure within Digital Workspace team.

The IT Consultant – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) is responsible for VDI solutions, including design, implementation, support and management. This role requires analytical skills, technical expertise, and collaboration with business users and internal teams. You will join a team focused on service design, global project implementation, and 3rd level support within the Digital Workspace team.

Key Responsibilities and Job Content

  • Accountable and responsible for VDI (Microsoft AVD – Azure Virtual Desktop) Design & Solutioning, Deployment & Management: Design, deploy, and manage VDI solutions tailored to business user’s needs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for VDI solutions. Ensuring efficient troubleshooting, researching, and resolution, leading or facilitating investigations and tasks pertaining to VDI solution, addressing client concerns and resolving issues promptly based on agreed SLAs & KPIs.
  • Acts as the focal point of contact for incidents, problems, and changes to the VDI solution.
  • Coordinate and collaborates with internal teams or vendors to actively troubleshoot and identify innovative resolutions to non-standard issues within the enterprise.
  • Engage with business users to understand their business requirements and technical needs, providing expert advice on VDI solutions.
  • Integrate VDI solutions with existing ROCKWOOL IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to client operations.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of VDI environments to achieve optimal user experience and resource utilization.
  • Perform routine system monitoring, health check and maintenance for pro-active management of IT by evaluates and recommends tools for maintenance and monitoring of VDI solution.
  • Implement and manage robust security measures to protect VDI environments from potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for VDI solutions, including design specifications, configurations, and support procedures.
  • Conduct training sessions for clients and internal teams on VDI solutions, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and adoption.
  • Oversee VDI projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Working with Product Manager to drive continuous improvement on managing and optimizing VDI solution and process.
  • Actively participate in operational ITIL processes i.e., Incident, Change Management, Problem Management, and Availability Management.
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments and trends in VDI technologies and solutions, recommending improvements and innovations as appropriate.

Professional Competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in computer software engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, deploying, and managing VDI solutions in a consultancy or enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in VDI technologies, including with cloud-based VDI solutions, such as Azure Virtual Desktop, VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Microsoft Remote Desktop Services, and other relevant tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of Windows, Office, TCP/IP, DNS, AD, GPO, LDAP, DHCP and VPN.
  • Understanding of storage solutions and their integration with VDI environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to streamline VDI management tasks.
  • Experience with monitoring and performance management tools for VDI environments.
  • Knowledge and experience on M365 solutioning are added advantages.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solution driven able to react quickly and resolve issues.
  • High level of logical intelligence.
  • Passion for technology and a continuous learning mindset.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, able to work in a team, possess cross-culture experience, project management skills and updating technical documentation as required.
