Tier One Technologies is seeking a Sr. z/OS Developer with Mainframe and Java interoperability experience for our US Government client.
This will be a 100% remote Contract-to-Hire position.
SELECTED CANDIDATES WITHOUT REQUIRED CLEARANCE WILL BE SUBJECT TO A FEDERAL GOVERNMENT BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION TO RECEIVE IT.
Responsibilities:
Research, design, implement and manage software programs as well as testing and evaluating new programs.
Resolve problems with software and respond to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
Write and implement efficient code to support the systems’ integration and migration activities.
Works closely with other developers, UX designers, business and systems analysts.
May be required to travel occasionally to support business efforts.
Qualifications:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is required. If the individual's degree is not in the applicable field, then 4 additional years of related experience is required
10+ years in Mainframe development, including IBM z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, and MQ.
Must have proficiency in REXX and SAS scripting on Mainframe systems for data manipulation and process automation.
Basic understanding of Java programming.
Prior experience working with JZOS and IBM JavaClassGenerator to facilitate Mainframe and Java interoperability.
Familiarity with DevOps practices on Mainframes is a plus.
Familiarity with MQ use with Apache Kafka is a plus.
Prior experience with performance tuning on Mainframe systems is a plus.
Working knowledge of the best practices in Mainframe development and support.
Strong written and verbal communication skills (ability to translate between business and technical concepts).
All candidates must be US Citizens or have permanent residence status (Green Card).
Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
Candidate must have lived in the United States for the past 5 years.
Cannot have more than 6 months travel outside the United States within the last 5 years. Military Service excluded.
