Overview:

Flexible Worker Contract 

Location: Remote - UK Wide 

 

About the role


We’re seeking an experienced Lead Moderator to oversee the moderation of the following qualifications on a flexible worker contract.

 

x1 V-Cert Technical Award in Food & Cookery (delivered by NCFE)

 

The purpose of moderation is to check that centres are correctly and consistently assessing student work and that the materials submitted for moderation meet the required standard.

As a Lead Moderator you will be expected to make a judgement on the accuracy and validity of the provider and moderators assessment decisions by continuously analysing data and evidence which forms part of the quality process to ensure qualification and regulatory compliance

 

How you'll make an impact:


• Responsible for monitoring the performance of moderators across the relevant sector through report sampling activities.
• Responsible for ensuring that quality assurance and moderation is delivered in line with qualification and customer requirements.
• Responsible for supporting the moderation team in maintaining compliance with all regulatory conditions relating to moderation of centre assessments.
• Monitor and support an allocated team of moderators, to ensure a standardised and consistent approach to quality assurance, moderation, feedback and processes.
• Sample moderators’ assessment decisions as required to ensure that the decisions are in accordance with NCFE’s requirements.
• Support the chief moderator in the delivery of moderator standardisation and training sessions and sampling/advisory activities to ensure continued improvement and consistent performance of moderators.
• Support the chief moderator with awarding activities where required.
• Provide moderators with up-to-date information, support, and advice during the moderation window.
• Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided to all stakeholders, internally and external, reflecting on feedback received through a range of sources to drive improvement in your own work practices and processes.

 

We'd love to hear from you if you offer the following:

 

• Relevant subject expertise in the sector area required, qualified to at least Level 3
• Evidence of at least 3 years working in the sector
• Qualifications in assessment and internal quality assurance
• Knowledge and management of moderation processes
• Excellent report writing skills
• Self-motivated and good organisation skills
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Customer focused and passionate about education
