Position Overview
The Food Technologist/Meat Technologist will work with Reiser customers to demonstrate Reiser Meat Processing Machinery, assists in recipe/product formulation of meat products at customer locations and provide guidance/training/education on proper machine procedures, control settings and techniques.
Qualifications & Experience
· Five years of experience working in further processing of meat (protein) products.
· Two years of experience operating meat processing equipment used in further processing of protein (meat) products.
· Two years of experience in development of meat/protein products (dried meats, cured meats, specialty meats) for production scale/commercial use.
· Prior experience supervising food processing employees in a protein (meat) plant environment, teaching/training/demonstrating food processing employees or teaching/training in a culinary setting is highly desirable.
· Experience with vacuum stuffing machinery such as Vemag, Handtmann or Risco highly desirable.
· A degree in Animal Science, Meat Science or Master Butcher Certification.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Operate industrial scale protein (meat) processing machinery used to blend, mix and emulsify meat into final food products.
· Be responsible for the operation of food processing machinery. Adjust controls and settings to adapt to customers plant specifications.
· Advise and assist the culinary teams of Reiser customers during food product testing.
· Create documentation/reports of customers food processing tests.
· Provide side by side training to customers on the operation of food processing machinery.
· Educate fellow Reiser employees and customers on proper process for formulating protein and plant-based products.
· Travel 80% - 100% overnight during the week to customer locations across the United States.
