Purchasing/ Plastics Trade Manager Spain, based in Spain, remote position

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing/ Plastics Trade Manager to join their team.

You will be responsible for overseeing the procurement of recycled materials from suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing inventory levels to meet the demands of their customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure cost-effective procurement of recycled materials
  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate prices and terms of contracts
  • Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and continuously seek new suppliers to expand our network
  • Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and plan inventory levels
  • Manage inventory levels and work closely with warehouse team to ensure timely delivery of materials
  • Develop and maintain purchasing policies and procedures
  • Oversee the purchasing team and provide guidance and training as needed
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers and make recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations related to purchasing and supply chain management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, a related field or equivalent education
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, preferably in the recycling or waste management industry
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers
  • Proven track record of cost savings and process improvement in purchasing
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience with purchasing software
  • Knowledge of sustainability and environmental regulations is a plus
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, both written and verbal
