Job description

We at Holycode are currently seeking an ambitious and experienced Senior Software Engineer to work full-time on the Swiss table reservation system Foratable.

Foratable, run and developed by the Swiss company Lunchgate AG, is a revolutionary reservation system that changes the way restaurants manage, market, and sell their capacity to enhance guest experiences. As a Senior Software Engineer (Backend), you will join an international team of software engineers to create the next-generation platform, implement new features, and enhance the product. This role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact platform and product development. Join the team behind Foratable as they scale up!

Responsibilities:

Build new features with the product team (PHP 8 or Java)
Maintain and improve existing functionality (PHP 8)
Write unit tests and functional tests for added functionality
Support the design and implementation of architectural principles
Closely interact with product managers and software, test automation, and DevOps engineers

Requirements and skills:

Masters degree and 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
Good knowledge about data structures, algorithms, and data types
Experience with service oriented architectures (SOA) and event sourcing
Passion for teamwork, code quality, and agile techniques (CI/CD, automated testing, trunk based development)
Good understanding of Functional Programming, Event Sourcing, and CQRS
Experience with Java (Spring)
Experience with a language like Haskell, Scala, or Rust is a plus
Proficient in both written and spoken English
