JOB SUMMARY
The External Communications and Corporate Affairs Manager will be responsible of shaping our external communications strategy, managing corporate affairs, and leading our zero waste and Triple Bottom Line (3BL) initiatives, aligning with the corporate directives set by our parent company, FIFCO. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications and corporate responsibility, with a focus on sustainability in the beverage industry and will need to be based on the Rochester/ Buffalo area to properly connect with key stakeholders in our home market.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and implement comprehensive external communications strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
- Manage media relations, including crafting press releases, responding to inquiries, and organizing press events.
- Manage external relations and partnerships with local and state agencies and build a solid network with wholesalers and retailers.
- Collaborate with senior management to align corporate communications with business objectives and key messages.
- Monitor industry trends, public policy, and regulatory developments affecting the alcoholic beverage sector.
- Represent the company at industry events and forums, fostering relationships with key stakeholders.
- Lead the development and execution of our zero-waste program, ensuring alignment with corporate sustainability goals.
- Oversee the implementation of 3BL initiatives, focusing on social, environmental, and economic impact.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability practices into daily operations, including volunteering activities.
- Supervise one direct report, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, encouraging professional development and innovation.
- Manage a budget of around 250,000 USD annually for operational expenses of this area.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in external communications, corporate affairs, or sustainability management, preferably in the alcoholic beverage or consumer goods industry.
- Proven track record in managing media relations and executing successful communication strategies.
- Strong understanding of sustainability practices, particularly zero waste and 3BL frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base salary range for this position is $112,800 – 169,200/year, not including benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired at FIFCO USA, your base salary will be determined based on factors such as individual skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition, we also believe in the importance of pay equity and consider the internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to enable future & continued salary growth. We also offer a generous benefits package!
