SHSO-Sutter Health System Office-Valley

Position Overview:

Provide a wide range of employee relations and labor relations support. Actively participate in and/ or lead the development of employee engagement/proactive employee relations programs supporting the overall employee value proposition. This includes development and implementation of various listening strategies, the engagement model and annual/pulse employee opinion surveys. As appropriate, represent Sutter Health in grievance, mediation, arbitration hearings or other labor or employment-related administrative proceedings.

Job Description:

This is a Limited Term role of 6 months.

Candidate must live in the Sutter Footprint and be able to come on site as needed for meetings, etc. This is not a 100% remote role.

EDUCATION
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Human Resources, Business Administration, Labor/Industrial Relations, Psychology or related field, or JD degree specializing in labor law. or equivalent education/experience


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

5 years progressively responsible professional experience in a human resources and/or employee/labor relations function.

5 years experience with developing, implementing and administering human resources/employee programs.

5 years experience with collective bargaining process.

5 years experience with employment investigations.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

Working knowledge of applicable employee/labor relations and employment laws and regulations.

Knowledge of human resources functions.

Knowledge of principles and practices of the collective bargaining and negotiation process.

Familiar with employment and labor trends and issues, and how it impacts workplace performance and the employee value proposition.

Knowledge of dispute/conflict resolution and mediation techniques with the ability to develop creative solutions.

Ability to communicate through verbal and written means, with tact and diplomacy, and to present information to a variety of audiences.

Analytical and conceptual skills with a keen attention to details.

Demonstrates a proactive approach in identifying and addressing issues and concerns.

Ability to influence others by persuasion, negotiation, and problem solving.

Collaboration skills to facilitate open sharing of information and cooperation with various stakeholders.

Ability to establish trust and credibility, and to interact and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of role’s duties while respecting cultural and linguistic differences and fostering an inclusive work environment.

Organization skills to effectively manage and/or re-prioritize activities and projects to meet deadlines while maintaining a high degree of responsiveness.

Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.

Ability to maintain and work discreetly with confidential and sensitive information.

Ability to use essential applications and/or databases associated with the role’s duties and responsibilities.

Pay Range is $58.95 to $88.43 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
