PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $18 - $25/hr hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE
As an Associate Software Developer -Intern at BECU, you’ll be a key contributor to creating enterprise-class software that supports our business objectives. You’ll develop and enhance software solutions under the guidance of senior developers, gaining valuable hands-on experience in designing, coding, testing, and automating solutions. Your role will help streamline and improve business processes while providing you opportunities to grow your technical skills and contribute to meaningful projects.
To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Collaborate with Your Team: Work closely with team members to determine the best technical solutions that meet software requirements, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Design and Develop: Develop prototypes, proofs of concept, and software solutions by combining technical expertise with a growing understanding of software design concepts.
- Build Quality Solutions: Write clean, scalable code for small features, automated tests, and scripts, following departmental procedures and programming standards.
- Optimize Code: Identify areas of improvement in existing code and implement changes to enhance performance, maintainability, and reliability.
- Streamline Processes: Automate and improve business processes with guidance from experienced team members and business experts.
- Learn and Grow: Work under the mentorship of senior developers, gaining knowledge of coding best practices and advanced development techniques.
- Support Deployment: Create continuous integration builds, deployment pipelines, and database migrations to support robust and reliable software deployments.
- Document and Debug: Perform system analysis, write documentation, debug code, and contribute to delivering high-quality software.
- Contribute to Success: Follow programming standards and participate in team efforts to meet deadlines and achieve business goals.
- Perform Additional Duties: Support the team and organization by taking on additional responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications:

- Experience delivering solutions in multiple programming languages and technical environments.
- Proficiency in .NET, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.
- Knowledge of Open Source (OSS) technologies.
- Understanding of SOLID design principles, Object-Oriented Programming, and Design.
- Experience using Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools.
- Experience using Test-Driven Development concepts, methods, and tools.
- Proficiency with Git for version control.
- Understanding of data modeling concepts.
