Summary of Job Duties:
This position uses specialized knowledge and training to oversee the auditing of tissue and implant documentation in patient records for TJC and CMS requirements. This position also oversees the charge capture and positing of over $500 million per year in charges. This position develops processes and procedures and makes recommendations for efficient charge capture processes. This position helps provide training to clinical staff on charge capture processes. This position will be responsible for multiple locations including Main OR, One Day Surgery, Rodney Parham Health Urology Center, and Endoscopy.

Bachelor's Degree plus 5 years of experience in billing, coding, or auditing, OR CPC Certification with 7 years of administrative or clinical experience, OR 10 years of administrative or clinical experience.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the audits of tissue and implant documentation in Epic using knowledge of TJC, CMS, FDA, and AATB requirements for documentation.
Work directly with the Director of Tissue and Implants to resolve documentation discrepancies to meet regulatory requirements and provide guidance for training to clinical staff as needed.
Work directly with the Director of Tissue and Implants to ensure the tissue is correctly documented in TrackCore to meet multiple regulatory compliance agency requirements regarding human tissue tracking.
Work directly with OR and Endoscopy CSMs to develop processes for charge capture of supplies, implants, and devices.
Work with CSMs and the Director of Tissue and Implant to provide training in areas where deficiencies are noted with staff. Work with CSMs and Director of Tissue and Implant to establish controls for vendor compliance with new product introduction into invasive areas such as OR and Endoscopy.
Work with CSM of Endoscopy to develop processes and procedures with travel cases to ensure accurate charge capture and reimbursement.
Oversee the charge posting logs for the Operating Rooms on both Main Campus and Rodney Parham and Endoscopy to ensure that captured charges agree with physician notes and nursing documentation in Epic and resolve discrepancies.
Work with CSMs and the Director of Implant and Tissue to provide training to clinical staff to minimize documentation errors.
Use specialized knowledge and training to ensure that procedures have appropriate implants documented.
Work with Workday Item Master and Hospital Financial Management to ensure charges are established for supplies, implants, and devices. Work with clinical staff on missing procedure notes.
Work with the Associate Administrator of Patient Care to manage the Optime error WQ in Epic to resolve errors promptly to ensure charges can be posted before timely filing deadlines.
May perform other duties as assigned.
